It is with great honor and humility that I take on the responsibility of leading the Endocrine Society of India at this pivotal time in our nation’s journey in health and science. The landscape of endocrinology is evolving rapidly, and we must embrace this transformation with vision, collaboration, and purpose.
Research remains at the heart of our growth. We must foster cutting-edge investigations in fields uniquely relevant to India, such as tropical endocrinology and the endocrine impact of infectious diseases, while also strengthening our efforts in geriatric endocrinology, ensuring dignified and quality care for our ageing population.
One of the emerging frontiers is environmental endocrinology. Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are increasingly shaping the health burden of our people, and India must lead in understanding their impact while influencing policy measures for prevention. Equally, as digital technologies redefine healthcare, digital applications in endocrinology—from telemedicine to AI-driven predictive tools—offer unprecedented opportunities for early detection, patient engagement, and clinical decision support.
As a Society, our responsibility extends beyond research and practice. We must lend a helping hand and play an active role in policy-making, ensuring that the voice of endocrinologists is heard in national health strategies. Equally important is our commitment to mentoring the next generation of endocrinologists, clinicians and scientists—building a culture of curiosity, innovation, and compassion.
Community engagement remains integral. Through awareness programs focused on lifestyle diseases and early detection initiatives for endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid, and others, we can reduce the long-term burden and improve public health outcomes.
Together, let us build an ecosystem where science thrives, compassion guides, and collaboration empowers. With your partnership, the Endocrine Society of India will continue to be a beacon of progress, education, and leadership in endocrinology.
